Membership Conditions

REPAR is comprised of full researchers, emerging researchers, associate researchers, clinicians and student members, who work in the field of rehabilitation in Quebec. Only full researchers are allowed to vote at the General Assembly.

Status:

Full Researchers

People with professor or researcher status (proper University status) who are associated with a university in the province of Quebec are eligible to become full researchers.

A researcher may become a full member by applying in writing to REPAR’s Scientific Director, outlining his/her interest in rehabilitation research in a cover letter and submitting his/her curriculum vitae for review. Membership applications are reviewed by the Scientific Council (SC) for possible recommendation by the Board of Directors.

REPAR abides by the Fonds de la recherche en santé du Québec (FRSQ)’s definition of an independent researcher predominantly working in the field of rehabilitation.

Full researchers have direct access to REPAR funding.

Emerging Researchers

A person with a doctoral degree, holding a university position in Quebec or in a Quebec research center, who has been granted research funds or who has published works, is eligible to become an emerging researcher. This status is valid for two years. After this period, emerging researchers are required to apply for a change of status in order to become a full researcher, an associate researcher or a clinician of the REPAR.

A researcher may become an emerging member by applying in writing to REPAR’s Scientific Director, outlining his/her interest in rehabilitation research in a cover letter and submitting his/her curriculum vitae for review. Associate Researchers

Associate researchers are those interested in the network’s activities but are not necessarily mentoring Master’s degree students, doctoral students, post-doctoral trainees and/or do not have the complete profile of an independent researcher, or who are not predominantly working in rehabilitation. Associate researchers cannot directly benefit from REPAR financial support. Associate researchers must be affiliated with a full researcher to benefit from any kind of financial support as a collaborator. Membership applications are to be addressed to REPAR’s Scientific Director (letter and curriculum vitae).

Clinicians

A clinician who is already collaborating with a REPAR researcher may apply for clinician membership status. Clinician members may become co-applicants with a REPAR full researcher on clinical pilot project proposals. Membership applications are to be addressed to REPAR’s Scientific Director (letter and curriculum vitae).

Student Members

Students (Master’s degree, doctoral students or postdoctoral trainees) enrolled in a program directed by a REPAR full researcher are eligible to become student members of the network. Students must hold REPAR student status and be in good standing to be eligible for the network’s grant program. Students must register themselves at the beginning of every year and specify the researcher who is mentoring them.
